We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Digital Ordering located out of our corporate office in Bloomington, MN as part of our digital transformation! Position Overview: The Director of Digital Ordering will lead Dairy Queen's digital commerce and gift card strategies, overseeing the development and execution of initiatives that drive incremental sales, enhance customer engagement, and optimize in-store and digital experiences — ensuring owned-channel ordering, delivery (direct and third-party), and gift card programs are seamlessly integrated into DQ’s broader strategy. This role will have oversight of both eCommerce and gift card programs, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into the broader business strategy and contribute to Dairy Queen's growth and profitability. The Director of Digital Ordering will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Brand Marketing, Operations, IT, and external partners, to align and execute Dairy Queen's digital and gift card strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Technologies, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in digital commerce, ordering, or related QSR/retail industries.
  • Proven ability to drive digital sales growth by scaling owned-channel ordering and delivery (direct and third-party) while optimizing fan engagement, frequency, and ticket.
  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Fluency in digital channels (SEO, SEM, email, social, app/web marketing) — with the ability to set direction, oversee execution, and connect efforts back to sales and loyalty growth.
  • Data-driven decision maker, comfortable translating insights into sales strategies and executive-level recommendations.
  • Exceptional communicator and influencer, with the ability to align stakeholders and champion digital sales priorities across the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience integrating gift card or payment programs into broader digital sales ecosystems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with QSR, retail, or franchisee business models strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital ordering and gift card programs strategy that aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Integrate delivery — both direct and third-party — into the overall digital ordering strategy to balance reach, fan loyalty, and operational efficiency
  • You’ll be at the forefront of spotting market shifts and consumer trends, turning insights into bold strategies that fuel growth across DQ’s digital ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, digital, operations, finance) to integrate digital and gift card programs into broader business initiatives.
  • Evaluate the need for additional staff and develop a business case to support the hiring of new team members.
  • Lead communication with broader marketing teams in Canada and the US, IT team, data analysis team, executive team, and franchisee leadership council.
  • Oversee the allocation and management of budgets related to digital and gift card initiatives, ensuring optimal use of resources to achieve strategic goals
  • Lead the strategic direction for Dairy Queen's eCommerce initiatives, including website and app development, digital marketing, and user experience optimization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and external providers to ensure a seamless fan experience across owned channels, DQ Direct, and third-party delivery platforms.
  • You’ll design and launch high-impact digital campaigns — from SEO to social — that not only drive growth but also connect fans to the joy of DQ wherever they are.
  • You’ll provide strategic oversight and integration for gift card programs, ensuring they align with DQ’s digital and brand priorities. The Gift Card Manager will continue to own day-to-day strategy and growth across B2C and B2B channels, while you ensure visibility, alignment, and cross-functional support.
  • Own and develop the content management strategy, ensuring that digital content is engaging, consistent with brand messaging, and optimized for SEO to increase organic traffic, engagement, and conversion.
  • You’ll lead and mentor a growing team of digital professionals, creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while shaping the future of DQ’s eCommerce talent.
  • Guide the day-to-day execution of digital ordering and gift card programs, ensuring campaigns and promotions deliver a consistent, high-quality brand experience
  • Implement a robust test-and-learn approach to optimize digital marketing efforts and continuously improve the customer journey.
  • Oversee A/B testing, customer journey optimization, and conversion rate enhancement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, company policies, and implement fraud prevention measures.
  • Monitor spending across digital and gift card channels, ensuring programs remain within budget while maximizing return on investment (ROI).
  • You’ll set the vision for how we measure success in digital ordering, while ensuring gift card reporting is integrated and visible at the executive level.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of digital and gift card programs, using data-driven insights to optimize sales, margins, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage relationships with technology partners, vendors, and external agencies, ensuring effective utilization of digital tools and platforms.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and solutions to enhance the digital and gift card experience.
  • Cultivate relationships with third-party distributors, corporate clients, and strategic partners to expand gift card distribution and drive sales.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting on digital and gift card initiatives, including budget forecasts, variance analysis, and recommendations for cost optimization.
  • Manage budgets for digital and gift card initiatives, optimizing spend to maximize ROI.
