In this position, the director will serve as the primary manager of hollins.edu and other third-party sites, overseeing day-to-day website performance and maintenance. This includes collaborating with and training content editors, ensuring quality assurance and user experience, and adhering to brand and content guidelines. The director will also work with the executive director to develop a digital communications strategy that integrates key concepts related to the university's brand and mission. Additionally, the director will reconstruct and manage the Hollins internet site, applying sound information architecture techniques to enhance usability and create a positive user experience. Collaboration with key staff from Admissions, Academic Affairs, and Institutional Advancement is essential to develop and implement a web communications plan that supports various university initiatives, including student recruitment and fundraising efforts. The director will supervise the Multimedia and Social Media Specialists, ensuring strategic integration across digital media outlets for optimal impact. The role also involves proactive collaboration with partners to execute data-based analysis and reporting for web marketing solutions, maintaining current information on hollins.edu, and developing a search engine optimization plan to increase visibility. The director will stay updated on innovations in web and digital communications, assess web needs, and recommend enhancements, while also creating and maintaining an editorial calendar in collaboration with the marketing communications team.
