About The Position

Directly responsible for developing long-term relationship with foundations, families, corporations and individuals to result in charitable gifts and grants to support the mission of Methodist Health System. Support the efforts of the Development team with their ongoing activities and fundraising priorities. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in development or related field
  • Must have a track record of success soliciting major gifts, leading multimillion dollar capital campaigns, directing special events, and securing philanthropic contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with board members, donors, administrators, physicians, and staff
  • Strong relationships within the philanthropic community of the DFW Metroplex
  • Polished and self-confident leader with insight, maturity, and compassion
  • Provides leadership and guidance to other leaders and staff in goal-setting, problem-solving, resource management, and outcome achievement
  • Organizes and utilizes time efficiently to complete assignments
  • Experience with fundraising special events
  • Collaborative team player
  • Growth mindset

Responsibilities

  • Major Gifts Officer
  • Secure philanthropic support from donors and potential donors
  • Manage selected fundraising programs (i.e. Grateful Patient, Legacy Giving, Annual Giving, Capital Campaigns, Major Gifts)
  • Provide leadership and support for assigned regional hospital community campaigns and other fundraising efforts in emerging markets
  • Engage and expand upon relationships within an assigned portfolio of donors
  • Work towards achieving individual and shared foundation goals
  • Other duties as assigned
