As a vital member of the school leadership team, the Director of Development at James Island Christian School plays a crucial role in advancing the mission and vision of our Christ-centered educational institution. Acting as a key operational and relational partner to the Head of School, this position focuses on ensuring financial sustainability through effective fundraising and donor stewardship. The Director of Development provides both directional and administrative leadership, overseeing well-organized and timely advancement efforts that align with our core values. Responsibilities include managing donor systems, supporting communication initiatives, coordinating impactful events, and facilitating enriching experiences for donors and the community. This role not only supports the operational aspects of fundraising but also fosters lasting relationships that deepen community engagement and enhance the school's mission to cultivate academic excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience in a comprehensive development program
  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google Suite and CRM

Nice To Haves
