The Director of Special Events is integral to building and implementing the overall strategy and development of events related to fundraising, cultivation and stewardship for Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) while working in close collaboration with leadership, vendors, and donors. In this role, the Director of Special Events will be primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of annual revenue-generating events at MVH. S/he will also drive the development and execution of a host of cultivation events, including (but not limited to) leadership donor celebrations, dinners and cocktail parties hosted by supporters, on-campus informational and educational events, and a range of smaller-scale stewardship events such as hospital tours and luncheons between donors and hospital leadership. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Development, the Director is a key player in driving a robust events strategy to engage MVH supporters across the spectrum. The Director will be responsible for the overall execution and delivery of excellent, compelling, and lucrative events with a variety of scope and scale, never losing sight of the overarching goal of raising awareness of the incredible work being done at MVH, engaging supporters in a variety of creative and strategic ways, and ultimately increasing philanthropic revenue for the hospital. Job Summary • Support the building and implementation of a robust event program for MVH that consists of a full range of revenue-generating, stewardship and cultivation events, varying in scale and in scope, with the ultimate goal of engaging supporters of all levels in support of the overarching goal of increasing revenue. • Drive and manage all aspects of annual revenue generating events.
