About The Position

The Director of Development Communications for USC Athletics is responsible for developing and coordinating all communications related to the Athletics Development office. This role involves writing content for solicitations, campaigns, websites, and other media, while supporting external fundraising campaigns and initiatives. The position requires collaboration with various teams within the athletics department and aims to enhance philanthropic support for USC Athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising communications (seven years preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Ability to navigate CRM and marketing email systems.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Experience working in higher education and/or a sports-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate all Athletics Development communications, including solicitations, proposals, letters, brochures, advertisements, invitations, and campaign collateral.
  • Design, implement, and conduct annual solicitations.
  • Assist with writing annual fundraising appeals.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to execute various development initiatives.
  • Utilize innovative strategies to discover new donors and increase philanthropic support.
  • Manage Athletics Development communications with various constituent groups such as former student-athletes, student-athlete parents, and volunteer boards.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of development-specific advertisement and marketing campaigns.
  • Promote an environment that fosters inclusive relationships and creates unbiased opportunities for contributions through ideas, words, and actions that uphold principles of the USC Code of Ethics.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 based on experience and qualifications.
