The Director of Development serves as a key leadership role in the CSRA market by making strategic decisions affecting Junior Achievement's external relations. This position is integral to managing the JA Discovery Center alongside the Site Director. The primary focus of this role is to manage relationships with external constituencies, serving as a resource to deepen the JA experience, strengthen the JA brand, and build the organization's volunteer and philanthropic engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for forging new relationships while maintaining existing ones to enhance JA's brand visibility, impact, and financial resources in the market. The Director of Development will assist in designing and implementing a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating and stewarding corporate, individual, foundation, and community philanthropic support. This role requires a well-rounded background in all aspects of development, as the Director will have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the core infrastructure required to grow a $800k+ JA market through the solicitation of major gifts, special events, corporate and foundation support, and annual appeals. In addition to fundraising, the Director will oversee the Local Advisory Board of Directors, ensuring effective governance and strategic guidance for JA of Georgia's efforts in the CSRA region. This includes managing logistics for board meetings, creating meeting materials, and developing board giving strategies in partnership with the President & CEO and Senior Director of Development. The Director will also play a crucial role in supporting the JA Business Hall of Fame, shaping the vision for the event, overseeing program activities, and ensuring effective stewardship of event supporters and sponsors.
