WHY DATA SCIENCE & ANALYTICS AT ROBLOX? The Data Science & Analytics (DSA) organization is a core part of product leadership at Roblox. Our mission is to accelerate and enhance product development through data insights, rigorous measurement, bringing to bear causal inference and machine learning expertise. By working closely with product and engineering teams, we uncover opportunities, inform strategy, develop robust solutions, and facilitate decision-making. Our work drives significant impact, expediting the product development cycle and improving experiences for our vast player and creator communities. As the Director of Data Science - Creator at Roblox, you will lead Data Science in 3 areas of the Creator Data Science organization at Roblox. The team covers several product areas and teams: from Creator Success (including the Creator Hub, Creator Analytics, Creator Events, and more), Creator Services (including Translation), and Creator Ecosystem (including developer relations). The team comprises a wide mix of skillsets, from product analytics, to causal inference experts, to ML engineers. A key focus of this role is also the integration of advanced technologies, including Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI, into our Creator Hub environment to empower creators. You will play a pivotal role in enabling creators to build, innovate, and succeed more efficiently. This role requires deep expertise in advanced analytics, causal inference, machine learning, and AI applications. You will use these capabilities to shape how creators interact with the platform and elevate creator success. By partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will accelerate product development and enhance the creator experience, ensuring data and AI solutions are at the heart of our strategy. Requirements

Education: Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Math, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, or other quantitative fields.
10+ years in data science, machine learning, or relevant technical domains with strong expertise in content creation platforms and system/infrastructure development.
5+ years of experience building, developing, and scaling high-performing data science teams.
Technical & Analytical Expertise: Proven skills in machine learning, causal inference, and a solid background in working with complex systems and infrastructure.
AI Technology Impact: A proven track record of implementing LLM and GenAI technologies to enhance product development or content creation tools.

Nice To Haves

Gaming & Tool Development Experience: Background in the gaming sector or working with game development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

Grow and Lead High-Performing Data Science Teams: Mentor and lead multiple data science teams, fostering innovation and collaboration to drive data-driven decision-making.
Innovate and Improve Creator-facing Products: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape the Creqtor roadmaps, using insights and experimentation to enhance creator tools and streamline the creation process.
Drive Content Strategy: Partner with Consumer, Economy, and Trust & Safety teams to develop data-driven content strategies that expand Roblox’s content ecosystem safely.
Build Scalable Data & ML Solutions: Design scalable analytics and machine learning systems that empower millions of creators, ensuring tools and insights can meet the demands of a global community.
