We're seeking a Director of Data Engineering to join our growing team. The Director, Data Engineering is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data infrastructure for our Marketing team across a variety of systems to ensure data solutions support growth, strategy analytics, campaign optimization, and patient journey analysis. This position may also be responsible for leading an engineering/analyst team.

  • Partner with Marketing stakeholders to understand business questions and define data requirements
  • Review raw data sources across various systems to map, clean, and prepare datasets for analytics
  • Reverse engineer stored procedures and ETL processes to document and replicate key business logic
  • Build and optimize SQL queries, transformations, and stored procedures for performance and accuracy
  • Develop repeatable, documented processes for creating marketing and business datasets
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Profile and validate data to ensure it reflects business realities and can be trusted for strategic decision-making
  • Deliver ad-hoc investigative data analysis to answer urgent marketing and business questions
  • Support the ongoing migration to AI platforms while delivering near-term solutions from existing systems
  • Establish best practices for data engineering, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required
  • Ten (10) years of SQL development and data engineering experience required; marketing analytics or customer data environments preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience supervising a data engineering team
  • Experience working with stored procedures, reverse engineering business logic, and curating disorganized datasets into analytics-ready formats
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines from multiple, disparate sources
  • Experience working with stakeholders to understand business needs and translating them into robust, analytics-ready datasets
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Advanced knowledge of raw data analysis, mapping, and transformation
  • Strong knowledge of one of the following cloud environments with a focus on data engineering activities; Azure, GCP, or AWS
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling and data architecture concepts
  • Strong knowledge of reverse engineering existing code and processes
