About The Position

Tulsa Honor Academy’s Director of Curriculum (DC) is a member of our Network Leadership Team. The Director of Curriculum oversees and drives the development of curriculum, curriculum adoption and implementation , and works to ensure the consistent use of rigorous, vertically-aligned, college-prep, High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) across grades and subject areas. Additionally, The Director of Curriculum oversees a small team to deliver high quality aligned materials to our schools. The DC supports our schools by working with leaders and teachers to implement curriculum with fidelity, in alignment with THA’s mission and vision to drive outsized academic results for our scholars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s Degree or higher Preferred)
  • Active state certification preferred
  • 3 years of experience as a K-12 Teacher (experience teaching Core Content, preferred)
  • A proven track record of driving academic growth and achievement as a teacher

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in curriculum supervision, design, or school leadership is preferred
  • Experience in systems/district leadership is preferred
  • Prior experience in a school serving a similar population to THA’s is preferred
  • Charter school experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Strategy: Develops curriculum strategy in collaboration with members of the THA Exec team.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop curriculum in alignment with Curriculum strategy, THA instructional model, Oklahoma Academic Standards, Common-Core Standards, and NGSS standards using backwards planning methods across various subjects and grade levels.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, and devise systems of accountability to ensure successful implementation of curriculum
  • Assessments: May provide support and/or leadership related to Internal and External Assessment Cycles
  • Curriculum Management: Leads cycles of curriculum revision and adoption cycles for the THA Network. Ensures curriculum materials are organized and accessible.
  • Curriculum Team: Leads and coaches Curriculum Team to write high quality, aligned materials.
  • Curriculum Implementation and Fidelity: Works with leaders and teachers to ensure that curriculum is executed at a high level. Provides curriculum and instructional expertise when needed in order to execute curriculum at a high level.
  • Professional Development/Skill Building: Provides leaders and/or teachers with needed professional development and support to win on curriculum-based initiatives.
  • Data: Supports the Network with academic data to inform instructional decisions across the network.
