About The Position

The Director of Cross Country/Track & Field at Salem Academy & College is responsible for coaching the women's cross-country and track & field teams, overseeing recruitment, practice sessions, and race day coaching. This full-time position also involves managing team logistics, fundraising, and ensuring compliance with athletics policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).
• Four to five years of collegiate coaching and/or playing experience required.
• Experience with both indoor and beach volleyball as a player and/or coach.
• Successful completion of the NCAA Division III Rules Test for Coaches in a timely manner.
• Current certification in First Aid/CPR (AED).
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the schedule dictates.
• Experience with FrontRush recruiting database management.
• Valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coach the Women's Cross-Country / Track & Field team, including recruitment, practice, and race day coaching.
• Develop and evaluate each athlete's performance.
• Conduct and supervise all practices and ensure compliance with athletics policies and procedures.
• Schedule and attend all contests and practices.
• Coordinate team travel arrangements, lodging, and itineraries.
• Arrange special meals with campus food service when games interfere with regular dining schedules.
• Report race results and information to media outlets as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance of Cross-Country/Track & Field program equipment.
• Supervise fundraisers and manage the fundraising budget.
• Maintain office hours and correspondence files.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
