About The Position

The Director of Critical Care Services is a registered nurse who reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. The Director is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily functions of the Critical Care inpatient service line, and maintaining the highest degree of patient care in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, as well as regulations that govern Los Robles Regional Medical Center.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Current California Registered Nurse License.
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification.
  • Supervisory experience with demonstrated executive abilities and leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate, encourage, and develop collaborative working relationships with customers, colleagues, and staff.
  • Establish goals and objectives for designated units and delegate work activities to the Clinical Managers and provide leadership development, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure standards of practice relevant to external sources of information regarding patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality.
  • Attend Nursing leadership meetings, other leadership meetings, and continuing education programs to maintain or enhance skills and knowledge appropriate to the job.
  • Frequently assess the progress of patients on the unit and assure that staff follow policies regarding the assessment of patients, and the timely notification of physicians regarding changes in condition.
