About The Position

Southeastern Integrated Care (SEIC) is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Crisis Services to lead and oversee our expanding behavioral health crisis continuum in southeastern North Carolina. This leadership role reports to the VP of Clinical Operations and provides oversight of our Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Lumberton, Mobile Crisis Management teams, Peer Support Crisis Line, and after-hours crisis response systems supporting residential and enhanced outpatient programs. The Director of Crisis Services plays a critical role in strengthening access to behavioral health crisis care across the region. This position will lead clinical and operational strategy to ensure services are trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and aligned with North Carolina Medicaid Crisis Coverage Policy 8A and state crisis system transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field
  • 5+ years behavioral health experience, including crisis or acute behavioral health services
  • 3+ years leadership experience in a behavioral health or clinical setting
  • Knowledge of NC Medicaid behavioral health policies and crisis services preferred

  • Preferred master's in business, clinician preferred (LCSW, LCMHC, LCAS, or equivalent NC license)

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight of SEIC’s Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center, Mobile Crisis teams, and Peer Crisis Line
  • Ensure 24/7 crisis response support across SEIC service lines including residential and enhanced outpatient programs
  • Coordinate crisis services with 988 crisis systems, hospitals, EMS, and community partners
  • Lead initiatives that reduce unnecessary emergency department utilization and support behavioral health diversion efforts, including non-law enforcement crisis response strategies
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations, quality standards, and crisis response protocols
  • Supervise crisis program leadership and support workforce development
