About The Position

Position Objective: This position leads all credit management activities to support the financial health and prosperity of CFS and its patrons. The role evaluates customer credit, monitors and collects open accounts in partnership with division leads and customer-facing staff, and oversees partnered financing programs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by processing credit applications, reviewing bank and trade references, setting appropriate credit limits and terms, and continually monitoring credit risk. Adjust limits as needed and conduct direct customer outreach to encourage payment and consult on payment solutions. Monitor customer balances and manage the collection of past due accounts by working closely with customer-facing staff and divisional VPs, utilizing letters, phone calls, mediation practices, small claims court, legal services, or collection agencies as necessary to keep accounts receivable current. Manage the additional credit personnel at CFS Work with divisional VPs to manage and administer all partnered financing programs including processing applications and funds requests i.e. Winfield United Secure Administer, enforce, and regularly review the CFS credit policy, recommending updates to management and the board of directors as necessary to ensure effective risk management and alignment with business objectives. File crop and livestock liens Initiate required procedures when bankruptcy notices are received Make recommendations to management for bad debt accounts Communicate to management and appropriate employees the status of credit risks or problems Know and follow all company safety policies/procedure. Perform work in a safe manner while observing all traffic laws and all OSHA state and federal safety regulations Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance. Make decisions and follow instructions with little or no supervision Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or management

Requirements

  • Post secondary education in finance or accounting
  • Experience in or knowledge of the agriculture industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office software and ability to learn accounting software
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
