About The Position

Job Summary: High Caliber/high net worth professional with a solid tax background to work with various entities, including partnerships, S corporations, limited liability companies, and trusts in a single-Family Office embedded within an operating business and has excellent hands-on detail skills and is competent and committed. Working directly with Family Office Leaders/Family Members/Operating Company Leaders/internal employees and external Tax Advisors and Legal Counsel. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development. Essential Functions: Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission. Ascertaining all entities remain current on all tax matters; proactive in planning and liaising with appropriate Third Parties on a pro-active basis. Managing tax projects to achieve accurate and efficient results as a key resource regarding the Family Enterprise. Over 250 tax filings consisting of federal partnerships, s corporations and trusts as well as applicable state returns (prepared by a 3 party vendor). Maintaining/modeling quarterly and yearly projections for various family members, company executive and his family members, and various taxable entities. Acting as a resource for the Third-Party tax advisors and legal counsel as well as company executives on specific tax issues and questions. Communicating to the appropriate personnel important tax developments affecting the Family and the Company. Maintaining knowledge of general economic and political trends of possible tax or other legislation that could affect the business climate. Assuming responsibility for smooth flow of tax information to ensure accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery of all entity and individual tax returns as well as creating Vision and Direction regarding opportunities for process improvements. Preparing other reports and working on projects as requested from time to time by Family, Company, or Third Parties. Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active licensed CPA with 10+ years of Public Accounting Tax Experience.
  • with client emphasis on privately owned companies and
  • strong corporate tax background
  • actively manage large client engagements
  • High Net Worth/Private Client Tax Services Experience: 10+ years
  • Master's Degree in Taxation
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Ability to perform technical tax reviews and approvals of all tax returns, all of which are prepared by Third Party, as deemed necessary and on own initiative
  • Ability to work with Third Parties, as deemed necessary, to assist and manage all federal and state tax examinations and audit defense
  • Ability to work as a resource with Third Party legal counsel and tax advisors to implement estate tax planning for Family members
  • Ability to perform duties with the utmost confidence
  • Computer and related software knowledge and/or experience and the ability to learn/use new computer programs
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with both internal and external customers
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle a complex workload

Nice To Haves

  • Family Office tax experience a plus.
  • Familiar with the Heavy Equipment Industry a plus.
