The Director of Corporate Safety provides strategic leadership and oversight of the company’s safety, health, and environmental (SHE) compliance programs across all facilities. This role ensures safe operations, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship while fostering a proactive safety culture that empowers every employee to contribute to a zero -injury workplace. This leader partners closely with site leadership, engineering, HR, operations, and maintenance to standardize safety systems, ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements, and advance long -term sustainability and risk -reduction goals.

  • Lead and oversee safety programs across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring consistent standards, accountability, and performance alignment company -wide.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to executives, frontline teams, and external stakeholders through reporting, written communication, and presentations.
  • Build and mentor a scalable network of site safety professionals with defined roles, expectations, and shared best practices.
  • Strengthen a proactive safety culture where every employee is empowered and accountable for workplace safety.
  • Partner with Operations, Facilities, and HR to integrate safety into business objectives, continuous improvement initiatives, and change management planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee environmental permits, reporting, and audits, including air, water, waste, and chemical management programs.
  • Develop and maintain corporate safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, near -misses, and non -conformances; ensure root -cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Conduct regular facility audits and inspections across all locations.
  • Champion standardization and automation of safety processes, including digital reporting and training systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to improve machine guarding, ergonomics, and process safety.
  • Support capital project planning to ensure safety is integrated early in design and construction.
  • Oversee corporate training programs, including OSHA -required training, HAZCOM, lockout/tagout, confined space, and PPE compliance.
  • Partner with HR and Operations to embed safety principles into onboarding, leadership development, and recognition programs.
  • Promote environmental sustainability initiatives and support employee -led safety committees.
  • Establish and track leading and lagging safety performance indicators.
  • Report safety data and trends to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement through analysis of safety metrics and benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive safety experience in manufacturing/industrial environments; multi -site leadership experience required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state safety/environmental regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, public speaking, training facilitation) with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with a focus on culture -building and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage audits, compliance programs, and corrective action systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to facilities in Ohio, South Carolina, and New Mexico.
  • Preferred certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent.
