The position involves building and managing a portfolio of 80-100 prospective corporate and foundation donors for major gift commitments aligned with CSU Monterey Bay's fundraising objectives. This includes identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, with a target of conducting 20 to 25 meaningful contacts per month. The role requires the development of written engagement and solicitation strategies, moving prospective donors through the cultivation cycle, and recording actions in Raiser's Edge NXT. Additionally, the individual will prepare and implement an annual plan for corporate and foundation relations, participate in building an Advancement Business Plan for each college and unit, and collaborate with University Advancement on various functions and activities. The position also involves developing and managing key corporate and foundation relationships to secure gifts for the university, creating and submitting grant requests, and potentially supervising assigned support staff. The role requires participation in special projects and events to ensure proper coordination and involvement.

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated success and increased responsibility as a grant writer/fundraiser.
  • Demonstrated ability to address essential functions associated with the position.
  • Minimum five years related experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the university environment and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced academic environment.
  • Multilingual ability and international or multicultural experience.
  • Technical fluency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT.
