About The Position

The Director of Construction Technology is a corporate leader responsible for standardizing, deploying, and scaling construction technologies across multiple markets and locations. This role is responsible for optimizing the company software applications across all departments and businesses to drive efficiency and consistency of our business. A key focus of the role will be to drive pre-construction support from a technology perspective, to support Design for Manufacturing and Installation (DFMI) standards to include drawing standards for prefabrication, and manufacturing-ready workflows that integrate design, estimating, operations, and field execution. The role will also consider the integration of other information to enhance workflow and streamline decision making in areas such as safety, fleet, procurement and project controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is desired but not required..
  • 10+ years in electrical contracting with 7+ years in BIM/VDC or construction technology.
  • Experience supporting prefab/manufacturing workflows and DFMO standards.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360, layout tools, and point cloud workflows.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • Electrical Field or Engineering experience in application design and construction layout design and detailing.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a multi-year project delivery technology roadmap aligned with corporate goals.
  • Work with all departments to optimize their software stack and to lead implementation of new software or technology to enhance the operation
  • Work with existing teams to standardize our project delivery work processes and leverage the existing software capabilities to their full capability
  • Participate in the rollout of Artificial Intelligence applications as a member of the AI Steering Committee as they are selected and develop within our current software stack
  • Establish and enforce enterprise BIM/VDC DFMI standards including spooling standards for prefab, modularization, and kitting
  • Lead Electrical Construction Technology Council across all offices.
  • Develop, Lead and Support preconstruction teams with model-based takeoff, constructability reviews, and coordination processes and software development.
  • Develop and maintain prefab and manufacturing digital workflows including BOMs and installation work packages, kitting, to support work front planning.
  • Deploy electrical construction technology solutions across offices ensuring standardization and adoption.
  • Train and support project teams, Construction Design and Layout ( CDL ) specialists, field crews, and BIM/VDC specialists.
  • Implement automation tools to streamline DFMI, Manufacturing and Kitting work flows, Construction design and layout drawings, spooling, sheet creation, and layout support.
  • Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and technology investments.
