About The Position

We’re seeking a dynamic leader to take charge of day-to-day operations across our Industrial Construction Division. As Director of Operations, you’ll guide a team of Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents to deliver excellence across every project. You’ll own the profit and loss performance of your portfolio and drive operational success from the ground up. This role demands proven experience in industrial construction and a passion for leading high-impact teams in complex environments. The location of this position is flexible, with up to 60% travel to regional office locations, project sites, client or vendor facilities.

Requirements

  • A four-year construction, engineering or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience preferred.
  • Extensive (ten or more years) experience/knowledge of industrial construction, project level, finance and management required.
  • Recent prior experience in Heavy Industrial Construction/Construction Management with mid-to-large complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project cost control means and methods.
  • Advanced understanding of construction/fabrication methods, processes, and supervision of large groups essential.
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee and project performance.
  • Knowledge of multiple construction delivery models to include EPC, Design-Build, etc.
  • Strong persuasive and influencing skills.
  • Exceptional ability to interact professionally with clients and all levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project execution plan and direct overall activities to assist in achieving total project objectives.
  • Responsible for budgeting, planning, staffing, safety, quality, and procurement.
  • Direct project activities to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Oversee a single large ($150+MM) or multiple small ($25MM - $100MM) projects.
  • Support Business Development team in the selection and pursuit of prospective opportunities.
  • Build long term relationships with owner, OEM, and engineering firm representatives.
  • Understand the client’s needs prior to contract execution.
  • Review and analyze expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits.
  • Manage all financial aspects of contracts by performing cost analysis activities.
  • Significant experience reviewing and understanding industry standard commercial contracts and negotiating experience.
  • Interact regularly with senior Company management and client representatives.
  • Enforce compliance of project personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
  • Train, develop, and mentor subordinate personnel.
  • Insure all employees and subcontractors adhere to project, corporate, and client safety processes and policies.
  • Monitor/controls the execution phase through administrative direction of Project Managers and on-site Construction Managers/Superintendents.
