About The Position

The Creature Conservancy is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Director of Conservation Education / Volunteer Coordinator. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of both animals and people through educational programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing various educational initiatives, including summer and school break camps for children aged 6-14. This involves writing curriculum, preparing materials, hiring and supervising camp staff, teaching, and managing administrative duties such as licensing and enrollment. In addition to camp management, the Director will plan and oversee year-round educational activities, particularly in the Fireside Activities area, where they will prepare and present educational materials. A key aspect of this role is volunteer coordination, which includes assessing and interviewing applicants, managing the volunteer schedule to ensure consistent coverage, and serving as a liaison between volunteers and staff. Training volunteers as needed is also a critical responsibility. The Creature Conservancy operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing opportunities for learning and engagement with animals.
