Director of Compliance
About The Position
LSA Management delivers best-in-class property management for apartment communities across the Southeast. Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, we manage 3,000 units today and expect to grow to 10,000 units by 2030. Our portfolio includes LIHTC communities and workforce housing developments serving families of all income levels. The Director of Compliance ensures all LSA communities meet federal, state, and local housing regulations. This includes LIHTC, HOME, Section 811, HUD-RAD, Project-Based Section 8, Public Housing, Housing Trust Funds, and FHLB Affordable Housing programs. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you'll lead compliance strategy, audits, and team development.
Requirements
- 6–8 years multifamily compliance experience, including 3+ years in NC preferred.
- Experience managing a team of 3+ compliance professionals.
- Expertise in LIHTC Section 42, HOME, HUD programs, and state agency requirements.
- HCCP and COS certifications required.
- Strong Excel skills and excellent communication.
Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance for multifamily housing programs and layered funding requirements.
- Manage audits, inspections, and annual reporting for state agencies and investors.
- Lead and mentor a compliance team; provide training for on-site staff.
- Review monthly reports and lease-up files for accuracy and timeliness.
