About The Position
NAMI Chicago seeks to fill gaps in Chicago's mental health system, with an intentional emphasis on serving underrepresented populations and breaking down barriers to care. The Director of Community Based Services supports NAMI Chicago’s mission by developing, auditing, and implementing NAMI Chicago’s peer-led recovery programs that support Class Members as they transition to and sustain community living. This includes oversight of NAMI Chicago’s embedded and community peer support programs under the Williams and Colbert Consent Decrees, which empower individuals to build independence and maintain housing through personalized, recovery-oriented peer relationships. The Director also oversees peer-led support groups and workshops, which foster connection, skill-building, and hope. They will play a pivotal role in expanding the reach and accessibility of NAMI Chicago’s peer support groups by partnering with trusted community organizations throughout Cook County.
