About The Position

Airgas is hiring for a Director of Commercial Business Development - Steel and Nonferrous Segments! This position is responsible for managing the strategy and offers for the steel and nonferrous segments within the Continental US and Canada. The role will lead cross-functional teams to drive Airgas growth in the developing US steel and nonferrous markets. Success will require strategic client and third-party relationship development, comprehensive ecosystem thought leadership, and deep technical and market insight.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree is required, engineering or science preferred.
• 10 years of hands-on experience in Commercial or Business Development required.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• 5 years in the steel industry is preferred.
• Specific experience in service industries or industrial gases business.
• Advanced knowledge of customer processes and application of Airgas and Air Liquide’s products.
• Technical competence in the steel and nonferrous ecosystems.
• Excellent negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify steel and nonferrous market opportunities, focusing on industrial growth investments.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop relevant industry insights.
• Drive on-site teams and regional sales teams to engage with customer leadership.
• Develop the Airgas offer for steel and nonferrous segments.
• Determine the go-to-market approach including channel, lead generation, training, and sales tools.
• Develop Airgas’ technical roadmap and competencies in collaboration with R&D and other teams.
• Lead program reviews and communication to the Airgas leadership team.
