About The Position

BankFund Credit Union is a full-service financial cooperative that was organized and chartered in 1947 as a convenient place for employees of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund and their families to save and to obtain credit. Located in Washington, DC, BankFund maintains three full-service branches downtown with our headquarters located near Farragut West metro station. This position is classified as a hybrid role which means that on-site work will be expected. After completion of training for the role, staff generally work on site 40% of the time but this is subject to change based on health and safety standards and operational need.

  • 5 years of experience with cloud transformational projects including the transition from Data Centers to the Cloud and SaaS solutions
  • 8 years' equivalent work experience with infrastructure and enterprise architecture principles supported by direct operational experience in a broad array of network and systems technologies
  • At least 6 years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics (CRM)
  • At least 6 years of experience working in a cloud computing environment (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, and/or data)
  • At least 6 years of hands-on SRE experience with deep understanding of SLA/SLO/RTO/RPO is required
  • At least 6 years deploying solutions related to IT infrastructure
  • At least 6 years of AWS and Azure experience required, experience with data migration from a center to the cloud highly preferred
  • At least 3 years of governance risk and compliance experience is a plus (NCUA Part 748, FFIEC, etc.)
  • Fluent in more than one technical language such as Java/Python/Go
  • Knowledge of EA principles and methodologies
  • Strong presentation skills. Able to effectively present and respectfully defend a point of view to a variety of audiences
  • Interacts well with both technical and non-technical customers, gathers relevant technical and business requirements, analyzes information, and designs comprehensive solutions
  • Possesses a desire to continually study new technologies and functionality, as well as be involved in projects that push the capabilities of existing technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, prioritize, multitask, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Possess multiple certifications for the design/development of distributed solutions on a leading infrastructure platform such as: IBM Certified Solution Architect - Cloud Computing Infrastructure v3 Google Cloud Platform Qualified Developer Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect VMWare Certifications (Data Center Virtualization, Cloud Management and Automation, Network Virtualization) AWS Certification

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud and SaaS strategy and solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP ensuring scalability, site reliability, and security
  • Manages and implements effective patch and vulnerability remediation by establishing best practices and cross-training the team across infrastructure platforms
  • Leads the planning and design of the full lifecycle management of cloud hosted infrastructure services and what and how different technologies are leveraged for the management of both on-premises and cloud hosted workloads
  • Facilitate, iterate, and document the design and adoption of a hybrid cloud model
  • Implements and manages processes and controls that assure maximum uptime, continual improvement, and quick service for both on-prem and Cloud workloads to optimize the current hybrid cloud infrastructure through automation, root-cause analysis and operational metrics
  • Develops, documents, communicates, and implements overall cloud architecture models, patterns, proofs-of-concept, and technology roadmap components aligned with business goals/strategy
  • Maintains a robust yet cost-effective Disaster Recovery and security strategy for critical systems, servers and infrastructure as well as eliminating single points of failure.
  • Work with Cyber Security to develop/interpret baseline cloud security standards and integrate those into existing workflows and features
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to promote adoption while creating as seamless experience as possible for IT operations, business leaders and staff
  • Design, architect and implement technical solutions for Microsoft-related technologies such as Azure, O365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Dynamics, etc.
  • Assess current use of O365 services and configurations; provide solutions towards enabling new capabilities/optimization and process improvements and automation.
  • Stay current with and champion the latest changes in the O365 environment to continuously enhance user experience
  • Analyze business need and design/develop solutions to provide business opportunities leveraging O365 capabilities
  • Leads by example and establishes credibility through quality technical execution. Provides technical expertise to build and optimize the technology infrastructure and operations. Coordinates with and works closely with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Application Support teams
  • Provides technical support for regulatory exams, internal audits, and risk assessments, including remediation of findings.
  • Manages third party vendor relationships and hold them accountable for delivery of outsourced functions including negotiating and management of contracts with key service providers to ensure service levels are met
  • Collaborates with leadership and key stakeholders on a regular basis and provides guidance on the digital first strategy
  • Maintains a professional, positive attitude at all times. Serves as a role model for employees

  • Participates in ad-hoc projects and undertakes other work-related duties as assigned
  • Supports employee hiring, training, staff development, timecard approval, scheduling, and direct assistance with coverage when needed
