The Adult Education and Workforce Development Division of Catholic Charities of Boston offers comprehensive, high-quality educational services to advance and accelerate the academic achievement of adult immigrant learners who face significant barriers in their search of viable career pathways and self-sufficiency. The Adult Education Centers offer multiple levels of ESOL instruction from beginning to advanced levels of language proficiency, the Healthcare Bridge ESOL Program, ESOL for Human Services, college and career readiness programming, Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide Training Programs, IT Training, flexible schedules, and distance learning options. The Healthcare Bridge ESOL Teacher will help design and implement a contextualized curriculum on the Healthcare Bridge ESOL class. The teacher will be responsible for planning lessons and activities, adopting a creative teaching approach and encouraging and motivating students to learn; whether in person, hybrid, or online. The teacher will prepare course materials and design innovative lessons plans that cover all aspects of the English language. The Teacher will provide scaffolded, explicit instruction, practice, and assessment in reading, writing, speaking, listening, digital literacy, and basic math to help students achieve college, career, and personal goals. The teacher will keep track of student progress and customize individualized plans for students depending on their personal needs. The Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, inclusive, and healthy class environment.
