About The Position

The Clinical Director i s responsible for th e ov e rall directio n of hom e healt h clinical services. The Clinical Director e s tablishes, impleme n t s a n d evaluate s goals an d o b jective s f o r h o m e health services that me e t and p rom o te the stand a rds o f qualit y and contribute to the tota l organization an d philosophy. The Clinical Direct o r also serve s a s th e Clinical Manag e r for the purposes o f me e ting th e Medicare Condition s of Participation.

Requirements

  • Registered n u rse wit h c u rre n t licensur e t o pra c ti c e pr o fessional nursin g in the St a te or a licensed physician in th e State.
  • A degree i n Medicine o r Bachelor’s degre e in Nursing fr o m an ac c redite d progr a m b y th e National League f o r N u r s ing.
  • Three ye a rs o f manag e ment experienc e in a h o me healt h or rel a ted hea l th c a re organization.
  • Demonstrate d ability t o s upervise an d direct pr o f e ssional administr a tive p e rsonnel.
  • Ability to mark e t an d de a l tactfully with cust o mers and th e communit y .
  • Must be a licensed d river with a vehicle th a t i s in s ured in a c cordanc e with stat e and/ o r Organiz a tion requir e me n ts an d is in goo d workin g ord e r.
  • Has excellent obs e rv a tion, v e rbal and w ritte n c o mmunic a tion skills.
  • Knowledge of busines s manageme n t, gov e rnm e ntal regulation s and Joint Commission standard s .

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates an d overs e es all direct and indire c t patient s e rvice s provide d by clinical organization p e rsonnel.
  • Provides guidance an d c ounseling to co o rdinators and Clinical Supervisors t o assist them in continually improving all aspects of hom e healt h c are s e rvices, pr o vided t h rough organization p e rsonnel.
  • Assists Clinical Supervi s ors in managing clinical teams an d planning.
  • Provides help in a s ses s ment, planning, implem e ntation an d evaluation o f patient and family/c a regiver car e t o all clinical personnel as indicated.
  • Assists the Exe c utive Director/Administrat o r in th e prep a ration an d a d ministr a tion of th e organization' s budget.
  • Int e rpr e ts op e rational in d icator s t o dete c t census changes an d increase s o r de c rease s in volume, which could im p act s taffing levels, r e ve n ues or expense s .
  • Evaluates performanc e o f Clinical Supervisor s .
  • Assists Clinical Supervi s ors to develo p skills and techniques in evalu a ting the p e rf o rmanc e of clinicians.
  • Hires, evalu a tes, and terminate s organizatio n personnel.
  • Conducts clinician performance e valuations ann u ally, or m o re freque n tly if indicated.
  • Oversees the maintena n ce of patie n t clinical rec o rds, st a tistic s , report s a n d rec o rds for purposes o f e valuation a nd rep o rting o f o rganizat i on activitie s .
  • Assures p roper mainte n ance of clinical recor d s i n compliance wit h local, stat e and federa l laws.
  • Responsible for th e mai n tenance o f adequ a t e an d appro p riate inve n tory s u pplies and equipment for the p rovision of patient s e rvices.
  • Develops, impleme n t s a nd evaluate s th e orient a tion progr a m for new o r g anization personnel.
  • Responsible for orient a tion o f new o r g anization personnel, eit h er dire c tly o r b y delegating t o anoth e r s t a ff m e mber.
  • Plans and impleme n t s inservice an d continuing e ducation pro g r a ms to m e et educ a tion an d training need s of organi z ation personne l .
  • Assists wit h th e evaluat i on of organiz a tion performance via performanc e improv e me n t progr a m, produ c tivit y , q u art e rly and annua l revi e ws.
  • Assure s f o r th e quality and saf e delivery of hom e healt h s ervices p rovided throug h th e Organization.
  • Assists in the d e velopm e nt o f o rganization goal s .
  • Develops, rec o mmen d s, and a d ministers Organiz a tion policies a n d proced u res.
  • Assures compliance wit h all local, s tat e and federal laws regardin g licensure an d certific a tion of organiz a tion personnel and maintains compliance to the J oint Commission Home Car e s tandard s .
  • Stays inf o rmed abo u t c h anges in th e field of n u rs i ng and h o me hea l th c a r e ; sh a res inform a tion wit h appro p riate o rganization p e rson n el.
  • Prom o tes h ome hea l th referrals in the healt h c a re communit y .
  • In the abse n ce o f the E x ecutive Dire c tor/Administrat o r, th e Clinical Director will becom e th e acting Exec u tive Dire c tor/Administr a t o r an d will be veste d with a uth o rity t o act on behalf of the Exec u tive Dire c tor/ A dministr a tor.
  • If fun c tioning as Clinical Manager, would p rovide oversight of all patient c a re s e rvices an d personnel including mak i ng patient and p e rsonne l assignme n ts; co o rdinating patient care; coordinating ref e rrals; a s suring patie n t need s ar e continually assesse d : a n d assurin g th e development, impl e mentation, an d updat e s o f the individualized plan of c a re.
