About The Position

Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people. The Director of Clinical Services provides leadership, oversight, and supervision for all clinical programs and professional disciplines within Kern Regional Center (KRC). This includes psychology, psychiatry and medical consultants, nursing, behavioral health specialists, nutrition, telemedicine and other licensed or certified clinical professionals. The Director ensures compliance with the Lanterman Act and all relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology, counseling or social work with appropriate California licensure is preferred
  • Possession of a master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in the field of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling medicine, nursing, public administration or other related discipline and licensures such as LCSW, MSW, LPPC, MFT, or certification as BCBA is required.
  • Licensed or board certified in a specialty area such as psychology, behavior analysis, social work or other clinically related field preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience conducting mental health/behavioral assessments and implementing interventions and service plans for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising staff and/or clinicians in a human services or educational settings with an emphasis on ASD and other developmental and intellectual disabilities
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
  • Full use of automobile or ability to provide for independent transportation.
  • Must be able to drive to various sites as assigned on a daily basis.

  • Salary range for this position $149,884 to $210,902
  • Starting salary range $149,884 to $165,247
