Requirements
- RN preferred, but will interview LPNs as well
- Supervisory experience required
- Experience with MDS transmittal process and understanding of regulations impacting the MDS
- In-depth experience and knowledge working with MDS computer software
Responsibilities
- Oversees the MDS Coordinators that completes the MDS, resident care plans and conferences on the computerized system.
- Direct management of the MDS Coordinator to assure accuracy and completeness of entire medical record.
- Assures and monitors that MDSs are completed within HCFA and Medicare guidelines.
- Ensures MDS electronic submission occurs per State regulations.
- Participates in family/resident care plan conferences. Manages the oversight of this process and serves as a direct point of contact for any escalations or concerns from residents and families.
- Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to medical record documentation.
