The Director of Clinical Operations for Providence Women's Health Services in Oregon is tasked with providing ongoing leadership and operational oversight for a network of 6 women's health clinics and 4 lactation clinics located throughout the Portland, OR metro area. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing management and operational systems that ensure cost-effective and high-quality operations in an environment characterized by rapid growth and constant change. The Director will lead managers and staff in the continuous improvement of clinical best practices, ensuring that patient care is delivered in a timely manner that is sensitive to the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients. In addition to overseeing clinic operations, the Director will partner with senior leaders to address administrative and operational challenges, leading or participating in region-wide special projects, committees, or task forces. Collaboration with Regional Medical Directors is essential to address matters impacting clinic provider professional activities or performance. The Director will also represent the cancer program, promoting strategic alliances with both internal and external health system partners to achieve coordinated and integrated care models. The role comes with significant challenges, including providing support to providers with varying cultures and practice styles, managing highly visible or controversial projects, and implementing common policies and procedures across multiple delivery locations. The Director must ensure the continued growth, strength, and stability of the medical group while optimizing the use of scarce resources and maintaining high levels of patient, provider, and employee satisfaction. This position requires frequent travel to multiple clinics and other locations to maintain presence and availability for meetings and support.
