About The Position

The Director of Clinical Operations for Health Plan Services is responsible for overseeing the effective operation of clinical services within the health plan. This role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical programs while collaborating with various departments and external vendors to ensure compliance and performance optimization. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage staff and drive strategic initiatives that enhance clinical operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of experience in health care, including direct services within a clinical care team.
  • Three years of supervisory and/or managerial experience in a health plan or managed care organization.
  • Two years of experience with responsibility for operations, including data management and analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in nursing, business administration, health care administration, public policy, social work, or public health.
  • Prior finance and budget experience.
  • Prior organizational behavior experience.
  • Prior healthcare leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate key stakeholders in all clinical programs.
  • Create metrics, measurement, and monitoring methods for clinical, operational, and economic performance of clinical program initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for continuous growth and improvement of clinical programs.
  • Oversee operational-clinical integration with delegated vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including NCQA, HFS, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with IT leads for effective implementation of clinical data and information exchange.
  • Manage operations staff to support clinical programs and maximize efficiency.
  • Hire, onboard, coach, and evaluate employees within the clinical department.
  • Develop and implement initiatives around value-based contracting in collaboration with Finance.
