The Director of Clinical & Business Development is a high-impact leadership role responsible for elevating clinical excellence, driving operational performance, and accelerating growth across the assigned market. This role blends clinical oversight with strategic business development—perfect for a mission-driven clinician who thrives at the intersection of quality, people leadership, and market expansion. Reporting to the Regional Director and/or Vice President of Clinical Operations, you will set the tone for culture, clinical standards, and growth strategy in your market.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing, preferred, in good standing required; a Licensed Physician may also be considered.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a registered nurse, three (3) years home care experience, and one (1) year supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong sales, marketing, and business development acumen.
  • Excellent communicator with high emotional intelligence and leadership presence.
  • Resilient, analytical, decisive, and motivated by mission-driven work.
  • Able to influence, build relationships, and inspire high performance across diverse teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or similar field strongly preferred for hybrid clinical-business candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all clinical services meet or exceed state and federal home health regulations.
  • Champion clinical excellence, quality assurance, and high standards of documentation and care delivery.
  • Ensure timely initial assessments/evaluations for all patients.
  • Conduct patient visits, as needed, to support clinical continuity and team capacity.
  • Oversee individualized plans of care and conduct ongoing assessments tied to patient response and progress.
  • Provide direct supervision to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and home health aides.
  • Manage hiring, coaching, performance reviews, corrective action, and terminations.
  • Build a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accuracy in clinical documentation and strict adherence to physician orders and payer authorizations.
  • Manage day-to-day operations for the home health agency, ensuring high performance and excellent patient experience.
  • Participate in budget development and maintain financial oversight to ensure market sustainability and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain staff credentialing, training, and competency standards.
  • Serve as the key liaison between the branch, Governing Body, leadership teams, and community partners.
  • Prepare reports on operational performance, quality metrics, and agency status.
  • Ensure leadership availability during operating hours.
  • Act in the Administrator’s absence to maintain seamless service for patients and families.
  • Lead initiatives to grow market share and expand census across the region.
  • Partner closely with Marketing & Business Development leadership on strategy, targeting, and execution.
  • Network and cultivate relationships with key referral sources—including hospitals, clinics, physicians, and community organizations.
  • Establish trusted relationships with key opinion leaders, specialty practices, patient advocacy groups, and provider networks.
  • Contribute to annual sales and marketing plans, including forecasting and promotional strategy.
  • Identify high-value provider partnerships that enhance market visibility.
  • Promote integration of NCP’s full set of services to provide a seamless continuum of care for clients.
