Are you a visionary civil engineering leader with a passion for driving growth, building lasting client relationships, and leading high-performing teams? We’re seeking a dynamic, solutions-driven Director of Civil Engineering to spearhead our Residential practice—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces challenges as opportunities, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. This isn’t just a leadership role; it’s a chance to shape the future of our civil engineering practice, influence strategic direction, and leave a lasting impact on our projects, clients, and team. If you’re a proactive problem-solver who sees obstacles as puzzles to solve (not roadblocks), we want you on our team.

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with public and private sector clients.
  • Expand existing client relationships, ensuring long-term satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor for key clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower project teams to deliver outstanding results under pressure.
  • Set and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to drive profitability.
  • Collaborate with project managers to forecast staffing needs and allocate resources effectively.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions for clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (highly preferred).
  • 15+ years of civil engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership (Director or similar).
  • Proven track record of winning work, retaining clients, meeting/exceeding revenue targets, and leading teams through complex projects.
  • Financial savvy with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Resourceful, adaptable, and thrive in fast-moving environments.
  • Proven experience managing teams and mentoring staff.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • A fair and generous salary + discretionary bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, 401(k), life & disability insurance).
  • Generous PTO + paid holidays.
  • Professional growth opportunities in a supportive, high-energy environment.
