About The Position

The Dean of Students Office helps Titans reach higher by serving as an advocate for students, connecting them to the appropriate university resources, and collaborating meaningfully with the campus community. We assist students in navigating the university and resolving educational, personal, and other concerns that impact the quality of their Titan experience. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Director of Care Services (Administrator II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness. Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Students, the Director of Care Services serves a pivotal role in promoting student well-being, engagement, and success at Cal State Fullerton. This position is responsible for overseeing non-clinical case management services for students experiencing academic, emotional, physical, or mental health-related distress, as well as coordinating key student development programs. The Director provides proactive support services designed to reduce student distress and enhance their overall well-being. Responsibilities include assessment, intervention, referral coordination, and follow-up services. While the position does not provide clinical or crisis services, it plays a vital role in supporting students who exhibit concerning or challenging behaviors that may impact their academic or personal success. In addition to case management, the Director oversees signature student development initiatives such as the Panetta Congressional Internship Program and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Ambassador Program. These initiatives are designed to promote student integration, leadership development, and a sense of belonging on campus. The Director also collaborates across the campus community to deliver trainings and educational programs focused on identifying and supporting students in distress. This includes partnering with student affairs units, faculty, clinicians, and other stakeholders to implement strategies and expand resources that support student wellness and retention. The position maintains responsibility for managing the non-clinical case management system (e.g., Maxient), conducting data collection and assessment to evaluate the impact of care services, and providing timely guidance and consultation to students, staff, and faculty regarding student support and care referrals. Housed within the Dean of Students Office, the Director of Care Services plays a vital role in advancing student well-being, success, and engagement. By leading programs that address students’ holistic needs—through care coordination, developmental initiatives, and advocacy—the Director supports the mission of the Division of Student Affairs and the Dean of Students Office. This position serves as a key resource in connecting students to appropriate campus support services and fostering a campus environment where all Titans can thrive academically, personally, and socially. Other duties as assigned.
