The Director of Cardiopulmonology is responsible for the oversight of Cath Lab and Respiratory Therapy department operations at Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Florida. This role works closely with hospital leadership and cardiology teams to support excellence in patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement within the Cath Lab department. The Director, Cath Lab is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and management of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, including planning, organizing, and overseeing all administrative, operational, and clinical activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery of quality patient care.

  • Oversees the daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, ensuring patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and efficient workflow.
  • Manages staff recruitment, training, and performance, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional growth and high standards of care.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental policies, protocols, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and evidence-based practices.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, cost containment, and resource allocation to achieve financial goals while maintaining high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance service offerings, develop quality improvement initiatives, and optimize patient satisfaction.
  • Ensures all equipment and technologies in the Cath Lab are properly maintained, calibrated, and used according to safety standards.
  • Analyzes performance metrics and quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with hospital administration, providing reports on departmental performance, project updates, and resource needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required or Seven (7) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • In depth knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory compliance (if applicable).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools.
  • CCVP - Certified Cardiovascular Catheterization Professional preferred.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
