About The Position

Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for over 70 years. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services — including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System, a weight–loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women’s and children’s services. Manatee Memorial Hospital also offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs. The Director, Nursing assumes 24 hour responsibility in directing and coordinating the clinical activities and operations of units and decentralizes Monitor Techs. This Director, Nursing supervises, evaluates, and holds accountable the ongoing performance of the nursing staff based on the facility’s operational pillars. Maintains structures and processes that ensure patient centered care and supports the development of staff through mentoring and stewardship. Supports work redesign and quality improvement using evidenced base practice to achieve clinical excellence. The Director, Nursing is held fiscally responsible for the departments operating budgets and administrative functions. Works Collaboratively with clinical leaders and other Directors to lead initiatives with positive outcomes. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Graduation from Accredited School of Nursing
  • BSN, required
  • MSN, required
  • Current RN licensure in Florida
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS through American Heart Association
  • Minimum of three (3) years of practice area experience, required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, required

Responsibilities
