About The Position
The Director of Capital Projects at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing all capital projects on campus. This includes new construction, facility renovations, and infrastructure upgrades, utilizing both internal and external project managers and resources. The Director will manage daily operations within the Capital Projects department, which encompasses personnel management and the development and maintenance of a comprehensive project controls program. This program is essential for ensuring quality assurance, budget control, consistent project delivery, and operational continuity across the campus. In this role, the Director will provide executive-level support and supervision to all members of the Project Management team, ensuring that all projects meet their programmatic objectives, are delivered on time, and remain within budget while aligning with campus strategies and initiatives. The Director will also assist the Executive Director of Planning, Design, and Construction to ensure the smooth operation of the department and the efficient management of its Capital Project Program. The position requires a strong background in design, architecture, engineering, and construction management, with a focus on collaboration with multi-disciplinary client teams. The Director will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in various regulatory requirements and maintain a high level of professional development throughout their tenure.
