About The Position

RahrBSG is looking for a Director of Business Technology to join our team in Shakopee, MN. The Director of Business Technology is responsible for partnering with key business leaders, either directly or through a team of business analysts, to prioritize, develop, implement and maintain the key business systems necessary to support the business and drive efficiency.  The position oversees implementation and updates of ERP related solutions and modules while driving continuous improvement and usage across the business. This includes planning and implementing strategies, processes, and functions to support business and user needs across ERP and ISV applications. As a strategic IT (Information Technology) leader, the Director of Business Technology leads the ERP Business Analyst and Support teams, with added responsibilities for budget management, policy and procedure creation and implementation, and ensuring strategic alignment with overall IT and business strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years’ experience with ERP implementation, execution, and management.
  • 3+ years’ experience leading functional ERP teams.
  • Application expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Proven experience building service and support models that are cost effective and create operational value.
  • Experience delivering dashboards and KPI analysis to report on ERP Service activities.
  • An experienced initiative-taker and builder, with strong collaboration skills to collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align ERP solutions with business goals.
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment delivering business results and holding teams accountable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and written to both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent strategic planning and ideation skills which support creative problem solving.
  • Proven ability to successfully execute in all phases of project life cycle with demonstrated success leading project management with agile delivery of business solutions.
  • Technical expertise in solution design and development, vendor management, enterprise application support, in addition to strong business understanding and project management.
  • Strong understanding of technical and non-technical components required for solution delivery.
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, IT teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills, and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships.
  • Promotes a positive, collaborative, transparent, and respectful atmosphere where work is executed productively and with responsible stewardship of company resources.

Responsibilities

  • Develops overall roadmap of Business Systems including ERP and other business applications. Serves as the strategic and business lead and partners with key business leaders to identify and prioritize new software and enhancements to existing software.
  • Develops and implements all aspects of the strategic ERP Services plan, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the roadmap is achieved.
  • Partners with the Enterprise Architect to establish system design and compatibility with the overall IT architecture.
  • Builds and leads a team of ERP Business Analyst and Support professionals that effectively collaborate, develop, improve, and execute creative solutions that support the overall IT and business strategies.
  • Cultivates a culture of teamwork, empowerment, professional development, continuous improvement, and a mindset to drive projects to completion.
  • Works with internal customers to prioritize and manage a pipeline of application improvement efforts including ensuring a process for new project analysis and screening.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking, creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipating and solving complex ERP solutions/problems and in developing methods, standards, and processes for diverse business activities.
  • Works to identify solutions to reduce cycle time, automate manual steps, implement controls to improve data quality, and improve end-user experience.
  • Reviews and understands operational business procedures and methods specific to functional business areas by mapping current business processes, defining, and analyzing business activities, proposing best practices, and providing solutions.
  • Leads Business Analyst Team in defining best practices. This involves managing the tools and templates the Business Analysts’ use, how the team uses these tools, and how the tools fit into the organizations’ business processes.
  • Manages staff planning and resource allocation. Includes assisting with long term staffing decisions, and forecasting how resources may be assigned to serve on future projects.
  • Leads ERP Support, Analysis, and Continuous Improvement functions of Rahr’s Information Technology Organization.
  • Tracks and documents change to functional and business specifications.
  • Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
  • Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.
  • Consults and coordinates with systems analysts and programmers to design and develop automated business systems.
  • Develops, coordinates, and implements test plans for business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.
  • Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.
  • Develops and manages relationships with key vendor partner projects and resources.
  • Balances work priorities and costs related to partner resources, ensuring costs compared to budget is regularly reviewed to align with financial targets.
  • Maintains a current understanding of developments in ERP disciplines and/or other related technical fields to recommend innovations to improve the quality and effectiveness of Rahr ERP Services.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the company and its operational needs.
