About The Position

This position is to oversee and execute all business operations and strategic advancement initiatives with the sole purpose of creating an environment in which students come to Christ. Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth for Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel. As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to: Seek God's guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives. Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC. Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events. Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA. All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC/USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Human Resource Management
  • HR Organizational Policy Management
  • Oversee local, national, and legal policies in regards to HR standards.
  • Hiring of New Employees
  • Oversee and aid in the hiring of new staff from job posting, interview processes, offer letters, new hire paperwork and begin the on-boarding processes.
  • Employee Management
  • Ensure all employees receive performance assessments via their supervisors and the necessary documentation is made and recorded into employee files.
  • Oversee and document that all staff are provided the necessary training and development per local and national expectations.
  • Termination of Employees
  • Ensure that all proper documentation and processes are obtained and completed in the exit process of an employee.
  • YFC National Reporting
  • Oversees the proper and timely reporting of all volunteer, personnel, financial and legal information to Youth for Christ USA to ensure organization health, accountability, compliance and mission alignment.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Implement effective and efficient practices to meeting financial obligations of the chapter.
  • Oversee that all employees are properly compensated.
  • Manage all incoming payments and donations.
  • Oversee reconciling of revenue streams and ensure accurate reporting by accountant.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and resolve discrepancies.
  • Risk Management
  • Ensure that all steps are taken for the proper, accurate and timely reporting of all behavior, incidents and activities that are suspicious, inappropriate, cause injury or jeopardize the safety of students, volunteers, staff and the ministry as a whole.
  • Collaborate on incident reports with Director of Ministry Operations
  • Communications with the Risk Management Team at National YFC
  • Partner Database Management & Donation Processing
  • Ensure that partners (donors) are relationally engaged and tracked in a way that supports the development methodology and for financial reporting.
  • Facilitate funding transfers from donors to Spokane YFC.
  • Financial Reporting & Budgeting
  • Provide financial reports for needed personnel in order to inform decision-making and create accountability for the chapter as a whole.
  • Based on a fiscal year cycle, annually create a budget that resources the mission and aligns with the Strategic Plan of the chapter.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the chapter accountant and auditor
  • Based on the fiscal year budget total, work with the auditor in order to ensure all business practices are being completed thoroughly and accurately.
  • Create and manage annual budget in collaboration with Executive Director.
  • Messaging, Marketing & Strategic Advancement:
  • Oversee organizational messaging.
  • Lead newsletters and story gathering.
  • Manage social media strategy and content.
  • Coordinate tabling and public engagement.
  • Develop marketing campaigns and materials.
