About The Position

Join the adventure! The Director of Business Development at CAMP4 Therapeutics will support the company’s growth strategy by sourcing, evaluating, and coordinating partnership, licensing, and collaboration opportunities that advance CAMP4’s therapeutic pipeline and platform. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will focus on opportunity identification, pipeline analytics, relationship development, and cross‑functional diligence support, while working closely with the CFO who will serve as the primary lead on deal negotiations and final execution. This individual will bring scientific fluency, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication skills to drive BD processes forward and strengthen CAMP4’s presence within the biotech and pharmaceutical ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in business development, corporate development, strategy, or related roles in biotech/pharma.
  • Prior exposure to partnering processes, asset evaluation, diligence coordination, or early-stage transactions preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize scientific, clinical, and commercial information.
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug discovery and development; RNA and genetic medicine experience a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with comfort working cross‑functionally.
  • Relationship‑oriented, with the ability to represent CAMP4 externally with professionalism.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work seamlessly with senior leaders while influencing teams without direct authority.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and resourceful in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Strategy & Opportunity Assessment Identify, track, and prioritize external opportunities aligned with CAMP4’s scientific and strategic goals.
  • Conduct initial scientific, clinical, and commercial assessments of potential assets and collaborations.
  • Develop high‑quality diligence materials, opportunity summaries, and internal business cases.
  • Provide market, competitive, and landscape analyses to inform portfolio strategy.
  • Partner with R&D, Program Leadership, and Finance to assess strategic fit and resource implications.
  • BD Process Management & Cross‑Functional Coordination Manage end‑to-end BD workflow—from opportunity sourcing through diligence and internal alignment—ensuring disciplined and transparent processes.
  • Lead the preparation of diligence plans, data requests, competitive assessments, and internal readouts.
  • Organize internal stakeholder meetings, drive timelines, and maintain documentation, trackers, and decision logs.
  • Support scenario modeling, valuation inputs, and financial analyses in partnership with Finance.
  • Deal Support Serve as the primary BD point person for early engagement, information exchange, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Prepare materials for negotiation strategy, term sheet evaluations, and deal reviews.
  • Work closely with the CFO, who will act as the executive lead on negotiations, deal structuring, and final execution.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance to support document development and contracting steps.
  • External Relationship Management Build and nurture relationships with biotech and pharma companies, academic institutions, investors, and innovation networks.
  • Represent CAMP4 at partnering conferences and scientific or industry events to identify and cultivate opportunities.
  • Manage inbound interest and ensure timely follow-up and alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Corporate Development & Strategic Insights Provide ongoing assessment of competitive intelligence, industry trends, and partnering activity relevant to RNA‑based therapeutics.
  • Contribute to strategic and portfolio planning discussions.
  • Support preparation of materials for the Board, executive team, and external audiences related to BD and pipeline strategy.
