About The Position

Five Stones Research Corporation (5SRC) is seeking energetic candidates to join our established and growing Huntsville-headquartered team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 20 years’ related experience
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and influence management skills including the ability to challenge the status quo
  • Experience marketing defense contractor products and services
  • Experience developing and closing new federal government business
  • Experience managing defense contracts
  • Extensive experience with business development processes including strategy, capture, proposal development, and delivery
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Set and lead the corporate business development vision and execution roadmap to drive sustained, scalable growth aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Continuously assess market dynamics, competitive forces, customer demand signals, and emerging trends to proactively shape business development opportunities.
  • Serve as 5SRC lead on proposals.
  • Serve as a senior corporate ambassador to industry partners and stakeholders, cultivating trusted relationships.
  • Lead identification and pursuit of high-value opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
  • Articulate and position integrated corporate solutions in proposal across all 5SRC capability areas, leveraging executive leadership, technical experts, and operational teams.
  • Establish and govern disciplined pipeline management practices across near-, mid-, and long-term horizons.
  • Define, implement, and monitor KPIs to measure growth performance, scalability risks, and return on investment.
  • Ensure achievement of all financial commitments, including revenue targets, pipeline growth, budgets, and capital deployment for new business initiatives.
  • Own business development operations, including market assessment, capture strategy, and proposal development.
  • Lead cross-corporation collaboration to assess contract execution and optimize operational performance to expand footprint within existing programs.
  • Establish and enforce governance processes for opportunity approval, capture reviews, gate reviews, and performance assessments.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop business development team to build a high-performing, growth-oriented organization.
  • Serve as a strategic problem solver, addressing complex corporate challenges and removing barriers to growth.
  • Lead executive-level business development reviews, pipeline updates, and strategic hotwashes with Executive Management Team.
