About The Position

The Director of Business Development in the Substance Abuse Industry is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with community referral sources, enhancing the organization's visibility, and promoting its services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human services, behavioral health, communications, business, or marketing (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Knowledge of recovery and substance use disorders.
  • Background in social services and/or non-profits strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Passion for the organization's mission of aiding those seeking recovery.
  • Reliable, dependable, and demonstrates initiative in work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in business development (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in substance abuse (1 year preferred).
  • Ability to relocate to New Brunswick, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary liaison to community referral sources.
  • Manage all email correspondence, confirmations, and follow-ups with outside professionals/organizations.
  • Obtain approval for all public relations appearances and communications prior to engagement.
  • Submit weekly reports detailing all hours worked and activities undertaken.
  • Develop and maintain a system for resource management within the community.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with key referral partners.
  • Report daily and weekly activities as directed by management.
  • Conduct clinically informed tours of the facility for referral sources and clients.
  • Represent the organization at networking events and professional meetings.
  • Draft communications to prospective referral sources and community resources.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to current and potential referral sources.
  • Collect and organize data on referral partners.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of marketing materials.
  • Maintain up-to-date marketing and outreach materials.
  • Provide support in special event planning and facilitation.
  • Continuously update referral sources with relevant information.
  • Refer clients appropriately based on their level of care needs.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as appropriate.
  • Provide clinical staff with an overview of community resources.
  • Comply with confidentiality laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • Abide by the College Recovery code of ethics.
