About The Position

Reporting to the President of Global Strategy and eMobility, the Director of Business Development & Strategy is responsible for assessing, compiling and implementing the enterprise strategy for the Mobility group. The enterprise strategy will achieve $6B in sales by 2030 +20% ROS via leveraging macro trends coupled with Mobility Group capabilities. The selected leader will be involved with significant ongoing strategic and financial analysis aimed at assessing the health and competitive positioning of the Mobility group's global portfolio with a central role supporting the segments strategic planning coupled with articulating the Mobility Group's strategies to internal and external stakeholders. In addition, this position will support continually expanding and actively managing the acquisition pipeline while co-leading opportunities connected to specific mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and minority investment opportunities. Partner with Mobility senior leaders, regions and global product leads to identify growth opportunities and strategic rational for organic/inorganic initiatives. Align processes, resource planning, and goals with the overall strategy, and coordinate strategy deployment across the organization, including effective communication of business strategy. Provide business intelligence and expertise to the team, support cross-functional initiatives, and drive continuous improvement and growth by monitoring emerging markets, macroeconomic trends, and technological advancements. Prioritize M&A targets and monitor their performance. Support teams in evaluating specific acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, or minority investment opportunities. Prepare a complete business case with robust strategic and financial analyses. Coordinate with CD&S to develop common view on qualitative and quantitative deal model and rationale and lead where required by gathering input from business teams, reviewing and revising legal documents, developing and executing negotiation approaches, and resolving open issues that could affect the transaction or valuation. Participate or lead special, cross-functional initiatives playing a central role in ongoing assessment and analysis of overall market dynamics and product line or reginal performance. Review and deliver a highly effective (growth and customer oriented) organizational setup which leverages our regional strengths and ensures proximity to our customers. Define core competencies for key roles in the structure needed for continued future success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 12 years of total professional experience with demonstrated work experience in management consulting, business development, investment banking, product management, in-house corporate strategy, and/or corporate development.
  • 10 years using strategic frameworks and analytical tools, conducting industry market and competitor analyses, and applying financial modeling and valuation methodologies in strategic planning or product management functions to develop robust pipelines of potential acquisition targets and partnerships.
  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience. Direct and matrix leadership is a strong plus in this role.
  • A strong business leader with a demonstrated track record of articulating and communicating a vision of operational and commercial excellence; ability to drive innovation inside the business.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Conveys complex information and able to develop communication strategies, to persuade significantly diverse audiences.
  • Ability to drive strategy discussions with multiple stakeholder perspectives to resolve conflicts and drive goal accomplishment
  • Willingness and acumen to objectively tackle complex high-level operational challenges using a practical combination of traditional and innovative methods.
  • Strategic (macro) perspective when analyzing trends or planning.
  • Professional presence with confidence and leadership ability to convey need and vision at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong collaborative bias towards recognizing and assembling the right team to accomplish the corporate objectives.
