About the position

Morgan Olson is a leading provider of innovative commercial vehicle solutions. As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Business Development to drive the identification of new markets, diversify our business, and lead a team of Business Development Managers. This leadership role will be key in helping the company achieve its growth objectives through market expansion and the development of new product and service offerings. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategies to identify new market opportunities, diversify the business, and expand Morgan Olson's reach. This role will also include the leadership and management of the Business Development team, ensuring alignment and collaboration across departments to achieve company growth goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of market diversification, strategic thinking, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification of new and emerging markets, conducting thorough research and analysis to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive market entry strategies to diversify Morgan Olson's product and service offerings.
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of Business Development Managers.
  • Oversee the execution of strategies to penetrate new markets and attract new customer segments.
  • Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships that facilitate market expansion.
  • Lead efforts to diversify the company's revenue streams by introducing new products and services.
  • Ensure that Business Development Managers effectively build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the negotiation of pricing, contracts, and terms with new and existing customers.
  • Work closely with internal teams to execute market strategies and ensure product alignment.
  • Track and report on the performance of market expansion strategies and the success of the Business Development team.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality and safety policies.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading and managing a team of business development professionals.
  • Experience in the commercial vehicle industry with a deep understanding of market trends.
  • Expertise in market research and strategy development.
  • Advanced CRM skills, preferably with Salesforce.
  • Extensive experience negotiating pricing, contracts, and business deals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
