About The Position

The Business Development Director will be responsible to create demand from both existing customer relationships and targeted leads. Will be involved in full cycle of business engagement for the appointed customers. This position will keep pace with the demands of a rapidly growing business, anticipate problems and synthesize appropriate solutions, and provide the expertise necessary to effectively execute to these business development initiatives. Candidate must have a high level of initiative, energy and drive and possess ability to articulate complex technical data.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • Extensive sales management experience within electronic contract manufacturing or other relevant industry.
  • Minimum 10 years in relevant technical sales and marketing with exposure or direct experience in the military/defense market or equivalent.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Travel is a requirement for this role.
  • Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Effectively interface with customers and principals at various procurement, management and engineering levels.
  • Ability to comprehend (including technical concepts) and communicate at a high level.
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Due to ITAR and / or CUI compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, build, and expand existing and new accounts and relationships in order to facilitate increased sales.
  • Create and execute to customer leads that build a personal sales pipeline.
  • Leverage industry relationships to understand competitive landscape and provide advantage
  • Negotiate large dollar contracts while maintaining a positive, long-term, working relationship with the customer.
  • Ensures competitor’s products, services and pricing are continually monitored, surveyed, analyzed and reported.
  • Seek customer feedback in order to improve ability to service customers.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, seminars and events as required.
  • Assists in developing pricing strategies to ensure market share and profit are maximized both in the short and long term.
  • Work within all internal cross functional areas as required to promote and deliver complex solutions to market and customer needs.
