About The Position

Persistent Systems is seeking a Director of Business Development, Army & SOCOM to lead growth across our Army and SOCOM portfolios. This role is responsible for identifying and establishing new customer relationships, managing high-revenue accounts, and implementing expansion strategies. You will ensure customers receive the best products and services by bridging the gap between technical capabilities and tactical needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (equivalent professional/military experience will be considered).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Sales/Business Development with Government or DoD customers or equivalent leadership experience within the U.S. Army or Special Operations Command (SOCOM) may be considered in lieu of traditional corporate sales experience
  • Experience in a role working with customers in the Defense industry
  • Understanding and/or knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) and network theory
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of military operational plans
  • Ability to support a highly technical, consultative sales model
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (OCONUS and CONUS)
  • Strong skills in building and delivering tailored presentations on technical and networking concepts to internal and external stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Deep understanding of specific Army and SOCOM/ARSOF units, including their unique operational requirements and mission sets
  • Strong understanding of Army acquisition/procurement processes and the C5ISR community
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) or equivalent training in program management or contracting disciplines
  • Master’s degree in business or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with a demonstrated track record of revenue growth

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential new customers while managing and developing existing relationships within the Army and SOCOM communities
  • Develop unique selling propositions and sales strategies to meet targets and expand the company’s global customer base
  • Partner with Engineering and Sales teams to identify new product opportunities based on customer feedback and tactical and operational unit requirements
  • Manage key accounts post-sale, ensuring customer satisfaction through tailored solutions and programmatic support
  • Create business proposals, lead initial negotiations, and close deals as part of a collaborative team
  • Identify, organize, and travel to industry events, trade shows, and operational units to strengthen Persistent Systems’ market presence
