About The Position

The Director of Brand Strategy and Experience drives the strategy, understanding, innovation, execution and measurement of all brand, advertising and digital customer experiences. To achieve these goals, the Director of Brand Strategy and Experience will be responsible for championing the needs of the customer, developing talent, leading projects, facilitating cross-functional efforts, managing suppliers, controlling budgets and evaluating effectiveness of all brand efforts.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience in a creative or technical field preferred.
  • 10+ years professional experience in Marketing, Advertising, Product Management, Product Design, Interface/Application Design, User Experience, Usability Engineering, or similar
  • 10+ years of experience collaborating cross-functionally with key stakeholders, marketers, analysts, engineers, and visual designers
  • Experience or working knowledge of current web/native technologies and trends
  • Well-versed in collaborative design techniques, Agile and Lean frameworks, application and requirements design, rapid prototyping, UI design, UI patterns, and information architecture
  • Strong experience driving channel growth and adoption

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall brand strategy and paid communications strategy.
  • Lead and inspire internal and external teams on the development and execution of innovative and impactful advertising campaigns and experiences to drive revenue and engagement.
  • Ensure we are delivering the most meaningful, useful and efficient communications experiences that not only satisfy, but engage our customers.
  • Partner and collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to develop new opportunities and hone existing strategies to maximize our communications and experiences.
  • Develop creative strategy and media mix that maximizes brand awareness and sales/gross profit.
  • Oversee the selection and management of agency partners, including creative, media, sports, digital and printing functions as well as across our other work streams.
  • Oversee the strategic assessment, identification, negotiation, activation and measurement of sports marketing partnerships.
  • Stay one-step ahead on customer and industry trends to inspire innovation and experimentation.
  • Leverage analytics and customer insights to help identify areas of opportunity, help prioritize efforts, and form an actionable (and measurable) plans.
  • Be proactive and engage with stakeholders to rapidly explore ideas, identify business and user outcomes, build consensus, minimize risk and define success.
  • Ensure and deliver the most meaningful, useful and efficient experiences that not only satisfy, but engage our customers.
  • Oversee the development and management of the overall feature roadmaps, calling attention to areas of concern, consumer frustration, and opportunities for the business.
  • Define the vision, goals and objectives for Wawa’s Social, initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to further deepen customer relationships through sound strategic rationale and assist Social teams in guiding its development.
  • Ensure key acquisition and active metrics are defined and reached YoY.
  • Deliver results through building the plan and owning the strategy, but also be ready to dive in to the data, creative and/or technology to ensure our goals are met.
