About The Position

The Director of Biostatistics at the Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of biostatistics. This position is responsible for driving research excellence, recruiting and mentoring faculty and staff, and ensuring that cutting-edge statistical and computational approaches are effectively and efficiently applied across the center's diverse research programs. The Director provides supervision of the day-to-day operations of faculty and staff biostatisticians to ensure that FCCC members have ready access to the highest quality biostatistics support and collaboration. Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree PhD or ScD in Biostatistics, Statistics or Data Science (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience conducting research with a strong focus on biostatistics in cancer or related biomedical fields (Required)
  • Extensive experience in leadership and management, with the ability to lead teams and foster collaboration across diverse scientific disciplines (Required)
  • Proven track record of successful grant writing and funding acquisition from agencies such as the NIH and other competitive funding sources (Required)
  • Strong publication record in high-impact journals (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring faculty, trainees, and staff (Required)
  • Experience working in an NCI-designated cancer center or a similar research-intensive environment (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years post doctorate experience as a practicing biostatistician (Preferred)
  • Experience in the design, execution and reporting of cancer treatment clinical trials (Preferred)
  • Experience in successful preparation of CCSG shared resources and P01/SPORE/U54 quantitative core proposals (Preferred)
  • General Experience and knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in cancer research, including personalized medicine, clinical trials, and data integration (Preferred)
  • Expertise in modern computational techniques, machine learning, and artificial intelligence as applied to biostatistics and experience with High Performance Computing (Preferred)
