The Director of Banquets oversees the coordination and execution of all banquet events at the resort. This role is responsible for leading a team trained to deliver the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. The Banquet Director is a hands-on leader who works event operations, directs service staff, and ensures client needs are addressed promptly and professionally. The Banquet Director collaborates closely with the Catering/Events and Culinary teams to uphold OKANA Resort’s food and service quality standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years as a Banquet Manager and 2+ years as Banquet Captain.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Guest-focused mindset with strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and inspire staff to meet and exceed performance expectations.
  • Oversee daily event operations, including setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Monitor labor costs to align with forecasts and event requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments.
  • Handle client requests and resolve guest concerns with professionalism.
  • Manage supply orders, inventory, and monthly equipment counts.
  • Perform or assist in any banquet position as needed.
  • Complete all required administrative paperwork and reports on time.
