About The Position

The AV Operations Director is responsible for leading and optimizing all operational functions of a commercial audio-visual integration company. This role oversees project management, installation teams, engineering, logistics, and service operations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards. The AV Operations Director drives operational efficiency, resource planning, team development, and process improvement while aligning operational execution with company growth objectives. This role requires strong leadership, deep AV industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple departments simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial AV integration or related technology integration industry.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of AV system design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and operational teams.
  • Proven ability to implement operational improvements and processes.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all operational departments including project management, installation, engineering, service, and logistics.
  • Establish operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Align operational goals with executive leadership and company strategy.
  • Provide leadership and direction to department managers.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of all AV integration projects from contract through completion.
  • Monitor project schedules, labor utilization, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure projects meet scope, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Address project escalations and resolve operational issues.
  • Coordinate with sales and engineering to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Forecast staffing needs based on project pipeline and backlog.
  • Allocate technicians, engineers, and project managers across projects.
  • Balance workload across operational teams to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify hiring needs and support recruitment efforts.
  • Develop and implement standardized operational workflows.
  • Improve coordination between sales, engineering, project management, installation, and service.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement operational improvements.
  • Evaluate and implement operational technology tools such as project management and ERP systems.
  • Manage operational budgets and departmental expenses.
  • Monitor project margins and operational profitability.
  • Track key operational metrics including labor utilization and project performance.
  • Work with finance to forecast project revenue and backlog.
