About The Position

As the Director of Auto Appraisals, you will lead the day-to-day operations and success of our Appraisals team, driving both short- and long-term strategies to support business growth. You will play a key role in managing vendor partnerships, collaborating with Account Management to develop strategies and products, and working with Learning & Development to define training needs for new workflows and vehicle type cross-training. A strong leader in performance management and coaching, you will focus on optimizing efficiency and quality while leveraging data-driven insights to measure success and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of Appraisal or repair experience with at least 4 years of management experience
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance principles and how they apply to appraisal decisions
  • Thorough understanding of vehicle repair, parts costs, classifications, and fraud detection practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-based, and results-driven environment
  • Desire to thrive in a remote environment ripe with opportunity to advance
  • Data driven - ability to use data to identify problems and potential solutions and consistently report back

Responsibilities

  • Manage the success of the Appraisal team, ultimately driving individual and organizational success
  • Recommend new workforce models and strategies that allow us to reduce costs associated with handling virtual appraisals.
  • Build, implement, and manage both manual and automated workflows to increase operational efficiency
  • Use data to articulate current and future planning and report on successes and opportunities
  • Apply knowledge of industry best practices to build out programming that will improve quality in the claims handling as well as services such as repair management and field appraisals
  • Coach and mentor estimating managers, encouraging collaboration and elevating overall department performance
